Creating Groups
You probably don't want to post your private messages to friends in Groupchat or Code Sharing, so we have a solution.
You can create your own group to talk with people. Here is a description of the process.
To start, go to Groups Feed. You can access it by clicking on 'Groups' at the top of a page for a group. Next, look at the sidebar that lists groups. Hit the 'Create Group' button. Give your group a title. (Please do not make it something like 'Trusted Friends' or 'Map Builders') Make it private AND hidden. This prevents random people from seeing or joining your group. Then hit the create group button. The admins will decide whether your group is created.
Once your group is created, you have a few things to do:
- Add Staff: You must add the admins and a few moderators to the group. (In some cases, this may be ignored. Admins have the final say.) Moderators should be made Group Admins from the members list.
- Add Members: Now you are ready to add your friends. You have a limit of 25 non-staff in your group.
- Follow the Site Rules: Your group must follow all site rules that apply to it.
We are aware that members may not be found in the search list. You may make your group visible for at most one hour to allow members to join.
Groups that are inactive are at risk of deletion. An admin will warn you before they delete your group.
