Badges represent interests and roles that members have.

 

Badges are sometimes awarded as prizes in events. Event host and moderator are badges that are given as an obvious sign that a user holds these roles. However, these are hard to obtain. This makes those with badges appear special.

Here is our system for making a custom badges.

 

In Groupchat, there is a topic named ‘Badge Petition’. To get a custom badge, make a post with all of these:

• The topic

• Badge name [less than 20 characters]

• A description of the badge [less than 100 characters]

• A suggestion of the badge icon

• A poll with one answer that has the answer ‘Upvote Badge’.

When a poll reaches 10 votes [upvotes-downvotes], I will then ensure that it is in good taste. [No making badges named ‘Moderator’ or similar to existing ones.] Once this is checked, an admin will create a post in Groupchat with the topic ‘Badge Opportunity’. This post will then automatically give the badge to anyone who replies to it. [By ‘automatically’ we mean by a robot on the back end.] Then, anyone can get that badge if they want it. People can then choose badges that they think represent them, and create new ones if they want.

 

Some of the posts may propose a skill contest or a vote on who gets the badge. This is fine, as long as it is not just being made for yourself.

 

Please don't spam these. There is a limit of 3 per user.

 

A list of all badges that aren't unique:

 

• Admin - Moderator+

• Moderator - Chosen to regulate the site

• Retired Mod - Used to be a Moderator

• Event Host - Hosts official events

• Zenith - 100+ followers

• Pinnacle - 50+ followers

• Mountain - 25+ followers

• Star Student - OG member of Karl's Google Classroom

• OG Member - Joined on the first day

• Featured Creator - Made a cool Gimkit Map as determined by the mods

• Verified - Person who is trusted

• Computer Crasher - Saw a crazy bug

• Magically Gifted - Potter fans

• Artist - Known to have art liked by the site

• Dragon Trainer - Has a dragon PFP

• Lore Master - Has good lore

• Carrot - carrot.

• Cookie - just a cookie

• True Lover of Gimkit - Gimkit W

• Pop-cat - Attended Karl's 'funeral'
